Going Places!
The Reach Out for Kids Going Places Program has
been developed to provide a general education in life issues relevant to
young people who are experiencing difficulty at school. It is run at ROK
in conjunction with local schools.
The aim of the program is to assist you to:
- think about decisions and choices that will affect your lifestyle and
future.
- explore issues such as alcohol and drug use, sexual health and legal
issues.
- make contact with resources in the local community including Youth Centres,
TAFE, Centrelink and other support services for young people.
- expand your awareness of the recreational opportunities open to young
people in the community
- identify study, work and further support options that you can access
in the future.
Activities
The program involves workshops, discussions and guest live speakers. Where
possible, visits to support agencies are organised around the local area.
Each week focuses on a particular theme relevant to young people. TOP

The program runs for one day a week over a three week period. TOP
Time
The program is run on Wednesdays from 9.15am - 3.15pm. The program
is run in school time. While you are in the program you are still considered
to be at school, with the program being an extension of classes at school.

The Going Places Program is based at Reach Out for Kids in Nunawading. TOP
Cost
There is no cost to participate in the program.
Staff
The program is staffed by the Youth Development Worker at ROK. A volunteer
assists with facilitating and supporting the group. TOP
