Family Counselling Program

Family conflict, separation and parenting issues are common causes of distress. If these problems are intense or longstanding, they can seem overwhelming. Loss, grief and unresolved traumas can take their toll on family relationships.

Sometimes families can experience difficulties as children and adolescents develop and their behaviours change. Children's developmental needs can be a worry for parents and other family members. The child who does not seem to fit in at school, who lacks friends or who seems to be getting into trouble, can present a challenge to parents.

ROK's Family Counselling service provides skilled and experienced counsellors who work with families to address problems causing family distress. The Family Counsellors arrange appointments to see families at ROK at a mutually convenient time. Sometimes the whole family may be seen together, or parts of the family may be seen separately.
